does anyone know how many more steps there will be before my xbox is returned?
And how long your xbox was in this repair status?

tried to find positive feedback(I'm an optimist) regarding repair.

Abandon all hope...
the process is slow, the repairs are superficial, the unit you sent in very good condition, will be replaced with another that was repaired due to recieving excessive vomit in machinery.

My gut is that the cost of unit production is under 35 dollars, which considering the price of the inital console, should be replaced with improvements.

There are no improvements, microsoft wants to squeeze ever penny by quarters, forgetting that they want to be considered a marquis name in computers/software.

Sign number one is that you have to call a call center in India, and that msft can sell you anything over the net, but repairs can only proceed on a medium other than the net.

Within five years, apple or someone else is going to produce a console that excedes and replaces 360...

in theory, you should not be worried about repair time of your current unit, you should be waiting on the direct competiton with msft.

The problem will be solved by the market, and the failures of msft to produce a reliable product, and to service the piece of crap.

Hrm, I really don't care about 360 competition. I just want to make sure I have a working console for the remainder of 2007 to play Halo 3 :)

I don't know what you're talking about when you say "call center in India". Their 360 support staff has sounded anything but "Indian".

I sent my xbox 360 out for repair on 9/11/07, and had not heard anything yet.

lol mike well said. that would be something i would say to him. But yeah i dont even remember when i sent mine in. It's been about 3-4 weeks I'm pretty sure and no ups man...But i checked my stats about 2 days ago and since the day i sent it in, it has said "Device Recieved at Service Center" or what ever. Now about 5 minutes ago i checked it and it says "No Registered Devices or some shit..im kind of getting fed up with Microsoft now..once i get my xbox im sure i will think differently.

I'm also getting the "You have no registered devices." message when I check on the repair status. My guess is that they're sending me a unit other than the one I sent them. I haven't registered the new unit under my name, so the message is sort of accurate. That had best mean that the replacement is on its way to me now...

I have been thru this 5 times. When I call to get a coffin I go to the state of WA BBB and open a complaint. This way you get to talk to an american and not someone in india with little to no info. You should ask for something in return such as free Xbox live a copt of PGR make them give you something for this faulty device they sold you. Good luck to all of you.

I had to make over eight calls to get the SOB's to send me a box to ship it in.

It took over three weeks. When it did show up I sent it in. Turn around time was about two weeks.

I took it out of the box today , put in a disc,
It played for nine minutes and crashed in flames.

Plum dead.

Biggest piece of ripoff crapola I have ever paid hard earned cash for. I will never buy MS junk again.

MY 10 year old sons X-Box 360 that he had for less ten a year when the three lights started ,he has a Playsation 2 and actualy did not use the X-Box very much at all ,however we figured he would start to get more interest in it as time moved forward .Well after we purchased him the Guitar Hero ,he started using in more often ,however the X-Box was still like bran new and probably had very few hours of play on it .Well anyway Microsoft suppport I found to be very friendly and helpful ,they quickly sent me a return box ,I returned the none working unit and aprx 3 weeks later we ecieved a new unit ,Microsoft said they did not think it was fair the we wait as long as repairing the unit woyuld taker and there for they replaced it with a new unit ? Well after only 2 days the "new unit" started having the same results the three lights ,I went from being very happy to very sad .I called Microsoft back and went thru te entire proccess again ,except tis time its taking alot longer to get a repaired unit back ,I sent out the second supposely new unit in early October and still have not heard a word from Microsoft ! Now Iam no longer bragging for Microsoft on how great their support is !
