Warblr: Play Tweets as Sound

Warblr is an app for Windows Phone 7 that converts Twitter search results into music. It's simply a fun audio gadget to have fun and create interesting sounds with.

The core features of Warblr are simple: search, play, and tweak. First, enter some keywords you want to search on Twitter for. Second, press the Play button. Third, customize the musical output by selecting the note length, scale, octave, and type of sound wave:

You can tweak the sound dramatically by adding frequency modulation and amplitude modulation:

The app also lets you play your own text - any text you want! You can also tweet/post your custom text with a pointer to @WarblrApp for others to try out:

How does it work?

Warblr uses a super-secret tweet-to-audio algorithm that converts the text of individual tweets into musical sounds.

How was this app developed?

The app was developed using c#, the WP7 dev tools for Visual Studio 2010, the MVVM pattern, the Pivot control, and a custom MediaStreamSource.
